I’m not quite ready to label my daughter a “tween,” especially when it comes to clothing, but that is the age we’re approaching.  I miss the days when I could put Lyndsay in the matching outfit of my choosing, but those days are gone.  Now she has an invisible set of rules when it comes time to get dressed.  So I’m trying to listen to her, and pick things that we both love.

Watching your little girl grow up is bittersweet for a mother.  It seems like those chaotic toddler years flew past in a haze of diapers, playdates, park playgrounds, Gymboree classes, naps and Sesame Street.  Now we have missing teeth and long legs and a sensitive little soul.

I love it though.  I love going on lunch dates, getting pedicures together, and yes, even shopping together.  I just have to adjust what I would choose for her, and see where it goes.

Lyndsay loves accessories, sparkles, skinny jeans, boots, simple silhouettes, bright colors, graphic tees and maxi skirts.  We’re going to figure out a way to make the boutique goodies that we love mesh with her sense of style.  So that she’s happy and feels good, and so that I feel like she’s wearing nice clothing that is appropriate for her age.

On Lyndsay:

Neige Dani Persimmon Dress, Frye Carson Short Boots, Gap belt (similar), Pony Necklace
